Software Product Manager (San Jose)
Experience, Skills and Competencies Preferred
- 5 – 8 years experience in Product Management, or Consulting engagements related to enterprise application, datacenters, private cloud, or virtual computing projects.
- Market strategy experience in technology from a top tier strategy consulting firm such as McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Booz Allen, etc.
- Competitive positioning and product management experience gained at key vendors like HP, IBM, Oracle, NetApp, for their converged infrastructure, private cloud, and data center product lines.
- Knowledge of Data Center architectures, Cloud Computing technologies data center virtualization consolidation, disaster recovery, backups, and networking, databases, reporting tools, middleware, security, monitoring and high availability systems
- Strong experience in industry and market analysis, segmentation, sales and customer analysis in technology environments
- Understanding of major software and hardware vendors, system integrators, VARs/ISVs.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop product vision and strategy for Application Solution for enterprise or service provider segment.
- Lead the product planning process with cross-functional team resulting in a product roadmap and the end product.
- Create and manage the Solution Requirements Documents (SRDs) for enterprise applications.
- Oversee and contribute to product documentation.
- Interact with customers to gather/validate product and concept feedback.
- Assess and analyze new market opportunities, industry trends, conduct competitive analysis, revenue and market share analysis.
- Work closely with solutions product marketing, engineering, sales, other stakeholders.
- Represent solutions and roadmap to customers.
Required:
- Bachelors (CS/EE/Technology) or equivalent and MBA from a top school strongly preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including public speaking to large audiences. Thought leadership preferred.
- Fast-paced decision making.
- Able to prioritize projects and work seamlessly with various stakeholders.
- Able to analyze financial, sales, support and survey data for in a clear concise way for management consumption.
